Private local AI
Choose the workflow before the model
The question is not “Which AI should we install?” It is “Which repeated task is valuable enough to improve—and controlled enough to test?”
A good pilot has an identifiable input, an observable output, approved source material, a human decision point, and a way to measure time or quality. Document intake, categorization, draft preparation, and internal search often fit because staff already know what a correct result looks like.
Design the approval gate first
Before optimizing the model, define what it can propose, what a person must approve, what evidence is shown, what happens when confidence is low, and what gets recorded. Those controls turn a demonstration into an operational system.
Local hosting can reduce data exposure, but privacy claims still require disciplined access, logging, backups, updates, and staff behavior. The product is not just the model; it is the controlled path around it.
